The supplier describes a two-chamber tester, hand pump, 250 ml test fluid, waste-fluid container and connection adapters. Check adapter compatibility before use.

Application and purpose

This kit checks for combustion gases in the cooling system by testing for CO2. It can support investigation of a suspected head gasket or cylinder-head sealing problem. It is not the same procedure as a coolant pressure test, and a test result should be assessed alongside other diagnostic findings.

Product details

Two-chamber tester with a filter between the chambers.

Hand pump for drawing gas from the cooling system.

Reaction fluid supplied: 250 ml.

Waste-fluid container and connection adapters.

Supplier-listed adapter applications include Mercedes-Benz, GM/Buick, Jeep, Peugeot, Subaru, Chrysler, Acura, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Toyota, Infiniti, Geo, Suzuki, Isuzu, Ford and Honda; exact model coverage is not specified.

Compatibility and use

Verify the radiator or expansion-tank connection and adapter fit for the individual vehicle. Brand-level listings do not establish compatibility with every model. Follow the kit instructions, keep coolant out of the reaction fluid and never open a hot, pressurised cooling system.
